The Land Registry received 32,749 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in the first half of this year, up 4.6% on the second half of 2019 but down 24.7% year-on-year. The total consideration for these agreements for the first half of 2020 was $269.02 billion, down 8.8% on the second half of last year and 32.3% below that for the first half of 2019. The number of assignments of building units was 35,038, down 25.8% on the previous half year and 21.5% lower year-on-year. The total consideration for these assignments was $249.86 billion, down 37.2% compared with the second half of 2019 and 31.9% less year-on-year. There were 2,373,015 land register searches made in the last six months.
