The Government will sell two residential sites by tender in the July-September quarter.

They are in Sai Kung and Tai Po.

Briefing the media today on the Government's land sale programme for the coming quarter, Secretary for Development Michael Wong said the two sites will provide about 160 flats.

Including the MTR Corporation’s plans to open tenders for LOHAS Park phase 13, which will produce about 2,550 flats, the total estimated number of flats provided in the quarter are 2,710.

The Government will also put up for sale two commercial sites for the same quarter.

They are at the New Central Harbourfront and in Tung Chung. Both sites could yield about 267,000 sq m of gross floor area in total.

Mr Wong said: “The site at the New Central Harbourfront can provide about 150,000 sq m of commercial GFA (gross floor area).

“The developer will be required to provide a large scale public open space and the landscape that is spanning across the site to enhance pedestrian connectivity to the Central harbourfront.”

Mr Wong explained that the Government will adopt a “two-envelope” approach for this tender, so that both design and price submissions would be taken into account during the tender evaluation.

The Government will continue to increase land supply through a multi-pronged approach to meet the community’s housing, economic and social development needs, he added.
