The Land Registry recorded 8,466 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in July, down 8.5% on June but up 55% compared to the same period a year ago.

The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in July was $99.4 billion, an increase of 23% on June and 117.1% more year-on-year.

Of the sale and purchase agreements, 6,091 were for residential units, a 9.3% fall from the previous month but up 73.3% compared to a year ago.

The total consideration for residential units was $65.2 billion, down 4.1% from June but a year-on-year rise of 96.4%.

There were 483,658 land register searches in July.
